Wilmington library fills need in tough economy
Check out an article in the Daily Herald News about the library. The article also includes a picture of Nikeda and preschoolers doing their rendition of "Do Your Ears Hang Low" with pantyhoses.

Children's Area Reorganization
Please excuse our mess as we reorganize our picture books. We are trying something new. We are putting all picture books in bins so children can see the covers for easier browsing. The bins will be labeled to help with locating books. If you need any help finding materials, please see Nikeda or another staff member.

Family Movie Event
See a special screening of
Monsters vs. Aliens
(a Dreamworks film)
Who: Children with special needs and their families
(siblings are welcome, too!)
Where: Marcus Theater in Orland Park, IL
When: Saturday, March 28th at 10:00 a.m.
(before theater is open to general public)
Cost: $5.50 for ticket and popcorn (you pay when you arrive at the
theater – cash & credit cards accepted)
Does your child have trouble visiting movie theaters? Introduce him/her
to the movie theater experience in an understanding environment
without the worry of disruptive behavior causing a scene. Use this as a practice run before going to a crowded theater with the general public.

Baby Rhyme Time
Join us for a wonderful fun filled time sharing rhymes, fingerplays, and songs.
January 16, 23, & 30 and April 10, 17 & 24 at 10:00 A.M.
Babies and Books
This program is a wonderful opportunity for babies and their caregivers to experience language, literature and the library.
February 13, 20 & 27 at 10:00 A.M.
First Friends
First Friends offer even the smallest babies a chance to interact with other babies and learn new skills while giving parents a chance to chat. A water table, an art easel, a sand table and other fun items will be available.
March 13, 20, & 27 at 10:00 A.M.
Programs for preschoolers ages 3-5...
Itty Bitty Bakers
Join us as we help our little bakers prepare delicious snacks and treats.
January 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10:00 A.M.
Mother Goose Time
Children will have fun with Mother Goose related activities and games.
February 5, 12, 19 & 26 at 10:00 A.M.
Little Einsteins
Little Einsteins is a science related program for preschoolers.

Staff will share their love of books and reinforce early literacy skills through stories, songs, and fingerplays in a small group setting.

Are you interested in solving crimes and forensic science? Then this program is for you. Drop in and learn how to take fingerprints and other evidence collecting techniques. Participants will receive a special kit!

Join us for book-related activities, games & snacks.

Junior Chef (K-5)
A three week cooking & baking program for kids who like to cook!
